Products and scope
Compute, delivery, storage, realtime and security products have separate billing units. Platform packages are also offered. Fastly sits in the delivery path of an application. A content-delivery deployment can cache responses near visitors, while Compute runs supported application logic at the edge. Those are separate decisions: moving static assets through a CDN does not move a database or replace every origin process. Requests and execution time are different compute charges, and storage operations have their own units. For a download-heavy service, start with delivery volume; for an edge API, start with request count and execution time. Products for security and realtime connections add other capabilities and costs. A fixed platform package should therefore be compared with the particular services it includes, not just with a low usage rate. Keep the origin’s own hosting and data-transfer bill in the calculation whenever it remains part of the architecture.
Billing and pricing
Compute lists ten million free monthly requests, then US$0.50 per million in the next tier. Execution is billed separately: one hundred million free vCPU milliseconds, then US$0.05 per million in the next tier.
